One of the things on our "bucket list" is a perimeter ride of the USA...on motorcycles. After all, we have been riding two wheels longer than we care to admit! Since we have never been the type to "follow the crowd", we decided that we would attempt this ride on scooters. *****************UPDATE************** We have lost our minds...AGAIN! We are doing the Perimeter Ride again, this time on cruisers. Stay tuned for more adventures of Ken and Sharlene!!!!

Day 11 A bright sun shiny day! (by Sharlene)
Today, we rode a total of 317.3 miles. All of it in the sunshine! Temps were in the high 70's and low 80's. It actually got a bit too cool about 50 miles from Batterboro, SC and I needed to put on a light jacket. It's amazing how easy it is to cover 300 miles with out the wind and rain. North Carolina is the Daylilly state. There were blocks of color in yellow, orange and white all along I95 in full bloom. It was beautiful. We enjoyed meeting the "Bigg Dawgz" at dinner. North Carolina BBQ is quite different than our Texas BBQ. It has a spicy, vinegar base which is unique to this area. Not to worry they don't hold a candle to Soulman's of Dallas, Texas. The home style cooked fresh vegtables were out of this world. What an awesome day we have had. Tomorrow we head to Virginia to stay with our cousin Susan and Phil. We will celebrate Dustin's 26th birthday!
