One of the things on our "bucket list" is a perimeter ride of the USA...on motorcycles. After all, we have been riding two wheels longer than we care to admit! Since we have never been the type to "follow the crowd", we decided that we would attempt this ride on scooters. *****************UPDATE************** We have lost our minds...AGAIN! We are doing the Perimeter Ride again, this time on cruisers. Stay tuned for more adventures of Ken and Sharlene!!!!

Day 24 Michigan by Sharlene
Today we rode 259 miles. Not much but a late start with a funny noise from my scooter as we warmed them up this morning. Ken checked everything and added the last of the oil. We didn't find the source of the noise but after gassing up and a few minutes down the road, the noise went away and didn't hear it again after that. The fairing on my scooter has a slight rumble to it between 26 -34 mph, again. Ken had it stopped just before we started out and it's back. We don't spend much time at that speed so it's not really a big deal. LOL We enjoyed the smaller country roads through Ohio and riding Hwy 20 going towards Toledo wasn't bad. We had decided to avoid the toll roads when possible. Crossing over to Michigan this afternoon and the state sign was highly visible and easy to get to. We stopped at the welcome center as we normally do and found a state map and few other pieces of literature that may help us through Michigan. The staff at the visitor center was not nearly as friendly or helpful as all of the others we have been to in this trip. Perhaps they just had an off day. As we head off of 75 to 23 we find the landscape full of farming areas. The farther north we head the more pine trees we see popping up. Finally arrive to the Saginaw area still in by dark but the latest we have ridden yet. Looking to the Upper Peninsula tomorrow and perhaps a bit of rain.

Perhaps the MI welcome staff somehow found out that your cousin is a HUGE Buckeye fan...O-H-I-O! You all crack me up with the bungees.
